Odoo Timesheets

Odoo Timesheets, synced with Odoo 18, 19 and 20.

Your team logs its hours in TimeViking. Usually within a minute they are in Odoo Timesheets, on the right employee, project and task. Projects, tasks, employees, working schedules and time off come from Odoo. Works with Community and Enterprise; free for up to 3 users.

Logging hours in Odoo takes too long.

Pick a project, pick a task, a date, a duration, a description: for every single line. By Friday nobody remembers what they did on Monday, and the project lead is chasing everyone. The quicker it is to log hours, the more complete the weeks and the more accurate the invoices. That's why we built TimeViking: your team logs hours here, and within minutes they're in Odoo, under the right employee and project.

Three ways to connect

With our free module (Odoo.sh and your own server), or through the Odoo API without a module, also on Odoo Online with the Custom plan: with one bot user for the whole team or with a personal API key per user. The details are on the Odoo integration page.

With the module

Free module from the Odoo Apps Store

Who it's for
Teams on Odoo.sh or their own server, where an administrator can install modules.
What you need
Install the free module. It sets exactly the rights it needs by itself.
What you get
No API keys to manage or renew and no technical user. Timesheets, projects, time off and schedules for the whole team.

Does not work on Odoo Online: custom modules can't run there. Use one of the API options instead.

No module

Bot user with an API key

Who it's for
The whole team, on Odoo Online (Custom), Odoo.sh or your own server. Nothing to install.
What you need
One technical user with the Project and Timesheets (all timesheets) roles, and its API key. The wizard lists the roles.
What you get
Everyone's hours, including colleagues without their own Odoo user. Time off and schedules with the extra roles.

The bot is one internal user in Odoo. On Odoo 19 and 20 the app renews its key itself.

No module

Personal API key per user

Who it's for
People with their own Odoo user, when a bot isn't possible or wanted.
What you need
An Odoo user with at least Timesheets (own timesheets) and an API key from their own profile.
What you get
Your own hours and your own time off, straight into Odoo, with the rights you already have.

With such a key Odoo only allows your own data: you can't see or write colleagues' hours.

Odoo versions and hosting

  • Odoo 18, 19 and 20, both Community and Enterprise
  • Odoo.sh, your own server, or Odoo Online with the Custom plan
  • Time off and working schedules from Odoo Time Off; hours to Odoo Timesheets

Odoo 18

Connect with an API key or with our module. In Odoo 18, an API key for a regular user expires after at most 90 days, and Odoo 18 cannot renew a key automatically: the app reminds you 14 days beforehand, by email and in the app. With the module you need no key at all. Working schedules per period are read from the contracts.

Odoo 19

The app talks to Odoo 19 through the new JSON-2 API and renews the API key itself, 14 days before it expires: you don't have to do anything. Working schedules per period come from the employee record; Odoo 19 no longer uses a contract for that.

Odoo 20

Tested on a real Odoo 20, just like 18 and 19, with the same features: JSON-2, automatically renewed keys, schedules and time off. Time off requested in the app goes to your manager for approval in Odoo 20 too. Odoo has announced that the old XML-RPC API will be removed in Odoo 22; the app no longer uses it from Odoo 19 onwards.

Odoo Online Standard and One App Free have no API, so no integration can connect to them, ours included. You can export your hours and import them into Odoo instead, or move to Odoo's Custom plan.

Everything on one page: the complete guide to Odoo Timesheets, step by step in Odoo 20. Running Odoo Community? Read what Community can and cannot do with timesheets. On approvals: approving timesheets in Odoo, with or without Enterprise. On the go: the timesheet app on your phone.

Free for up to 3 users

Free for teams of up to 3 users, forever. Above that, €5 a month for your whole team of up to 20 users, not per user. 21 to 100 users: €10 a month. Billed yearly, excluding VAT. Prefer to pay monthly? €5.75 and €11.50. No ads, on any plan.

Questions about Odoo Timesheets and the integration

Does this work with Odoo Community?

Yes. TimeViking works with Odoo 18, 19 and 20, Community and Enterprise. The hours land in Odoo's standard Timesheets app, on the project and task you choose. What Community itself can and cannot do is covered in our guide Odoo Community and timesheets.

Do my employees need to sign in to Odoo?

No. They sign in to TimeViking. The hours go to Odoo through the integration (module or bot user), under the name of the matching Odoo employee.

What does it cost?

Nothing for teams of up to 3 users, forever. Above that, €5 a month for your whole team of up to 20 users and €10 for up to 100 users, billed yearly and excluding VAT. Not per user.

Can I import the hours without an integration?

Yes. If you're on Odoo Online Standard, which has no API, export your hours to Excel or CSV in Odoo's import format and import them into Odoo.

Free for teams of up to 3 users.

Forever, and no card needed. Larger teams get every feature free for 30 days.
